Terms and Conditions for FluentDrummer
Last updated: 21 October 2026
1. Who we are, and these terms
FluentDrummer ("we", "us", "our") operates https://fluentdrummer.com.
Trading name: FluentDrummer
Legal name: Anthony Capel, trading as FluentDrummer
Address: 16 Goetre Fawr, Radyr, Cardiff, CF15 8EU, United Kingdom
Email: support@fluentdrummer.com
These terms form a contract between you and us. By using the site or buying from
us, you accept them. Please read section 6 (your right to cancel) and section 10
(health and safety) with particular care.
Nothing in these terms reduces your legal rights as a consumer. If anything here
conflicts with those rights, your legal rights win.
2. Who can use this service
FluentDrummer is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to use the site's
accounts, tools and assessments, create an account, buy from us, or give us
your email address. By signing in you confirm that you are 18 or over. This
service is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly provide it to
anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we
will close it and delete its data.
3. What we provide
Free, without an account
- The Drum Fluency Diagnostic, and the result emailed to you if you ask for it
- The Practice Score quiz, and the result and resources emailed to you
- Find My Level, the curriculum placement test
- The blog
Free, with an account
- The Drum Debut (Level 0 of the curriculum)
- The exercises, the metronome, playalong backing tracks and the other practice
tools shown on the site as free
Paid: FluentDrummer Pro
- Level 1 onwards of the Learn to Speak Drum curriculum, with your progress
saved to your account
- £5 per month, or £47 per year
The price you pay is the price shown at checkout. We may change prices for new
purchases at any time; a change never affects a subscription you have already
started without notice under section 7.
If you bought an earlier plan that is no longer on sale, you keep what you
bought on the terms that applied when you bought it.
Free features are provided as they are. We may change or withdraw them.
4. Accounts
Keep your sign-in details secure and do not share your account. Tell us promptly
at support@fluentdrummer.com if you think someone else has access to it.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, unless it
resulted from something we did wrong.
When you first sign in we ask a few questions: whether you have played before,
what kit you play on, your goal, your age band, and (optionally) what you are
finding hardest. We store your answers with your account and use them to start
you in the right place and improve the lessons. The Privacy Policy says more.
5. Payment
Payments are taken by Stripe. By buying, you authorise the charge shown at
checkout.
FluentDrummer Pro renews automatically at the end of each period you have paid
for — every month on the monthly plan, every year on the yearly plan — at the
price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. We do not store your card
details ourselves.
If a payment fails we may retry it and may suspend access to Pro until it
succeeds. Your saved progress is kept while access is suspended.
6. Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)
Because you are buying at a distance, the Consumer Contracts (Information,
Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to
cancel within 14 days of buying, without giving a reason.
The 14 days run from the day your contract is made.
How to cancel
Email support@fluentdrummer.com with your name, the email address on your
account, and the date you subscribed. A clear statement is enough — you do not
have to use a particular form, but there is one at the end of these terms if you
would like it.
Refunds
We refund within 14 days of being told you are cancelling, using the same
payment method you used.
If you start using Pro during the 14 days
Pro is available the moment you subscribe, and by subscribing you ask us to
start providing it straight away. You keep your right to cancel, but we may keep
a proportionate amount for the days you had access before you told us. If you
have not used Pro at all, you get a full refund.
Free features
You have not paid anything for these, so nothing is owed either way.
7. Cancelling FluentDrummer Pro after the first 14 days
You can cancel at any time, yourself, from Billing in your account menu, or by
emailing support@fluentdrummer.com.
Cancellation stops the next payment. It takes effect at the end of the month or
year you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not
refund part periods, except where section 6 applies or where the law requires
it.
When Pro ends, your account and saved progress stay, so you can pick up where
you left off if you subscribe again. How long we keep it is set out in our
Privacy Policy.
If we change the price or materially reduce what the subscription includes, we
will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, and you may cancel before the
change takes effect.
8. What you need
Some tools listen to what you play through a MIDI drum kit or module connected
to your device. You provide your own kit, instrument and device, and a browser
that supports the features the tool needs. Tools that can be used without MIDI
say so.
9. What the tools are, and what they are not
We provide practice tools and guidance: exercises, progressions, scoring and
practice plans. Scores and levels are feedback on your playing to help you
decide what to practise, not an assessment or qualification.
We cannot guarantee any particular result, standard, speed of progress, exam
outcome, audition result, or income. Progress depends mainly on how you
practise.
Nothing we provide is medical, physiotherapeutic, financial or careers advice.
10. Health and safety
Drumming is physical. It involves repetitive movement, sustained posture, and
exposure to loud sound.
- Play within your own physical limits, and stop if something hurts.
- If you have any injury or medical condition that might be affected, get advice
from a qualified medical professional before starting.
- Use appropriate hearing protection. Drum kits regularly reach levels that can
damage hearing.
- You are responsible for the safety and setup of your own equipment and
practice space.
Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury
caused by our negligence.
11. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use the service unlawfully, or to harass anyone
- Interfere with the security, integrity or availability of the platform
- Scrape, overload or abuse our APIs or automated workflows
- Reverse engineer non-public parts of the platform, except where the law
permits it
12. Content and intellectual property
We own, or are licensed to use, the site, the tools, the notation, the audio and
the written material on it. You may use them for your own practice.
You may not resell, republish, share your account, or distribute our resources,
recordings or playalong tracks, or present them as your own.
You keep ownership of what you create — your practice entries, progress,
ratings and notes. You give us permission to host and process
that content so we can run the service for you. We do not publish it, except where you choose to share
something, such as a practice heatmap link.
13. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but we do not promise uninterrupted access.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we carry out maintenance.
Where a change significantly reduces what you have paid for, section 7 applies.
14. Ending your access
You can stop using the service at any time.
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these
terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the service or other users.
Where we do, and you have paid for something you have not received, we will
refund the unused part unless the reason was your own serious breach.
15. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for: death or personal injury caused by our
negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that cannot
be excluded under the law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the
contract was made, or for business losses — loss of profit, business,
opportunity, or goodwill. We provide this service for private use.
Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability arising from your use of the
service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
16. Complaints
Please email support@fluentdrummer.com and we will try to resolve it. If we
cannot, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme, and you
can always take a claim to court.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring
proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or
Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings there.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a purchase is the one
published when you made it. For subscriptions, we will give at least 30 days'
notice by email of any change that materially affects you, and you may cancel
before it takes effect.
19. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your personal data:
